Would you like to take part in some research in Leeds into the effects of diabetes on the cardiovascular system?

Dr Amrit Chowdhary is a cardiologist at Leeds University who, with Dr Eylem Levelt conducts research into the effects of diabetes on the Cardiovascular system.
At our October meeting Dr. Chowdhary and Levelt talked to us about their research & how this could benefit the population with Diabetes.

They described how the main focus of their study was to look at the way the heart beats, the thickness of the walls etc and how people with diabetes may show signs within their hearts that they are predisposed to diabetes.

This was a very interesting talk and if you have Type 2 Diabetes and would like to take part in this research please contact Dr. Chowdhary at the following email address: a.chowdhary@leeds.ac.uk and let him know you are interested - some of our members have been involved and the research is taking place right now, February 2020.

If you have Type 1 Diabetes and would like to take part in a future study, this may also take place in the future - please watch this space!

Please email them asap if you would like to take part in this potentially cutting edge research - it involves an MRI Scan to see your heart in action.

And please let us know if you do take part - thank you
